Thomas Gaudet is a Certified Public Accountant and strategic business advisor with nearly two decades of experience spanning financial leadership, private equity environments, and hands-on entrepreneurship. As a Business Broker with Murphy Business and partner alongside Hal Feder, Thomas helps owners translate complex financial data into clear, actionable decisions. He brings both the analytical rigor of a CPA and the firsthand perspective of someone who has personally started, acquired, operated, and sold his own businesses.

Thomas began his career in audit at PricewaterhouseCoopers and went on to serve in financial leadership roles for multi-entity businesses with revenues ranging from $100 million to $18 billion, including Smithfield Foods and a private equity backed vegetation services company operating across 35+ states. His background includes US GAAP, IFRS, multi-currency consolidations, KPI development, budgeting, and building scalable financial infrastructure.

Beyond corporate finance, Thomas is an entrepreneur at heart. He is the co-founder and longtime CFO of Lawn Envy, owner of Hand-I-Maids, founder of Verity Advisory, and serves as advisor and CFO to Love Health DPC. Having sat on both sides of the transaction table, he brings invaluable empathy and insight to every engagement.

Thomas’s industry experience is broad and growing. It spans professional services (including accounting practices), restaurants and hospitality, move management and personal concierge services, manufacturing and specialty chemicals, distribution and retail, food production, landscaping, lawn care and vegetation management, utility infrastructure services, healthcare and concierge medicine, home services, and HVAC. As a hands-on DIY builder and maker, he also brings a working understanding of construction, fabrication, woodworking, and the trades. His intellectual curiosity and continuous-learning mindset mean he is comfortable taking on businesses across virtually any sector.

Thomas holds a BSBA in Accounting (Cum Laude) from Longwood University and completed graduate-level coursework in Finance and Real Estate at Virginia Commonwealth University. He resides in the Williamsburg, VA and Glenside, PA areas with his fiancée and four children.

With two decades of experience in auditing, accounting, and financial reporting inside companies ranging from $100 million to $18 billion in revenue, I've developed deep analytical rigor and a comprehensive grasp of financial performance at every scale. Just as importantly, I've sat on both sides of the transaction table, having personally navigated the complexities of buying multiple businesses and successfully selling one of my own. That firsthand experience gives me genuine empathy and insight into the perspectives of both buyers and sellers.

An entrepreneur at heart

As the co-founder and CFO of Lawn Envy, LLC for nine years, I intimately understand the dedication, hard work, and strategic decision-making it takes to build and sustain a thriving business. I've witnessed growth firsthand and appreciate the emotional investment owners have in their companies. My fiancée and I also own and operate a residential and commercial cleaning business together, and she founded Love Health DPC in Glenside, PA, where I serve as board advisor and CFO. Through my own company, Verity Advisory, LLC, we collaborate on innovative employer health plans, blending our professional experiences in ways that benefit the owners we serve.

Beyond the financial statements

My understanding of business extends well beyond the numbers. Growing up, I spent summers in the demanding environment of fabrication and installation, wearing a hard hat and steel-toed boots and gaining a practical, operational understanding of construction and mechanical processes. That passion for building continues today through DIY house projects, woodworking, and creative tinkering. When I sit down with an owner, I'm thinking about both what the P&L is telling us and what's actually happening on the shop floor.

I'm genuinely energized by meeting new people and learning about their unique journeys. My financial acumen is complemented by a natural curiosity to dig into the data, understand the business, and identify the real drivers of success. My direct industry experience spans professional services and accounting practices, restaurants and hospitality, move management and personal concierge services, manufacturing and specialty chemicals, distribution and retail, food production (including hog farms and packaged meats), landscaping and lawn care, vegetation management, utility infrastructure services, healthcare and concierge medicine, home services, and HVAC supplies. As a hands-on DIY builder, woodworker, and tinkerer, I also bring a working understanding of construction, fabrication, and the trades. My continuous-learning mindset means I'm comfortable taking on owners and businesses across virtually any sector.

Background

I hold a BSBA in Accounting (Cum Laude) from Longwood University and completed master-level Finance and Real Estate coursework at Virginia Commonwealth University. I'm a Certified Public Accountant. Outside of work, my fiancée and four wonderful children are my greatest treasures. We love to stay active and explore together through sports, outdoor adventures, and traveling to experience new cultures and historical sites.
